Xu Nanjie and his team explained receptor signaling pathway for innate fear regulation

  On September 28, Shanghai jiaotong university school of medicine, department of anatomy and tissue embryonics, Xu Nanjie and shenyang pharmaceutical university professor jing-yu Yang team published in the American Journal of Neuroscience (Journal of Neuroscience) entitled “the amygdala EphB2 signal conditioning glutamic acid can mature neurons and congenital fear” of the research paper. This work is following the earlier findlings this year in the journal Nature Communications mediated congenital fear the loop formation process of the key role of ephrin axon guidance molecules - B3 after another important work.

  In this work, the authors found EphB2 as expressed in the amygdala can adjust the glutamate receptor neurons in the mature process, promote the formation of congenital fear. The discovery and research found prior to the group, confirmed that the critical period in mice development mediated across this specific nuclei loop ligand (ephrin - B3) and the receptor (EphB2) interaction mechanism. This pair of molecules is the key and lock, through specific binding in precise point in time after birth, lead long the formation of the neural circuits. This research firstly use overhead cross maze and predators odor induced respectively two methods of fear caused by congenital behavior, the necessity of detecting the EphB2 in fear, and then through the detailed analysis can glutamate and GABA neurons in the amygdala response difference, has been clear about the affects glutamate can be the key factors of the neuronal activity of dendritic spines, proved the EphB2 tyrosine kinase activity dependent on the signal in the amygdala neuron synapse formation and function of the important role.
